Dong M Shin, M.D., serves as professor of oncology and hematology for the Emory Winship Cancer Institute of Atlanta. Dr. Shin was born in South Korea, and he originally earned his medical degree from the Yonsei University College of Medicine in 1975. After completing his medical training, Dr. Shin completed a four-year internship for the Cook County Hospital, and he did another internship for Yonsei University Hospital.

Dr. Dong Shin earned his medical degree from Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. He completed his internal medicine residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and his oncology fellowship at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Dr. Shin currently practices as a medical oncologist at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute, where he also serves as Chair in Cancer Research and Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology. His special areas of interest include asbestos-related cancers such as mesothelioma and lung cancer.
