Background
Dr. Jack Elias earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his internal medicine residency and pulmonary and critical care medicine and allergy and clinical immunology fellowships also at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Elias currently serves in multiple administrative and academic positions at Brown University, including Senior Vice President for Health Affairs, Dean of Medicine and Biological Sciences, Professor of Medicine, and Principal Investigator.
Dr. Jack Elias works to develop new drugs to treat lung cancer and other diseases of the lungs.
Clinical Research
Dr. Elias’s laboratory is funded by the National Institutes of Health. He studies the cell and molecular biology of lung injury and repair, including how asbestos damages the lungs and other tissues. He works to develop new drugs to treat lung cancer and other diseases of the lungs. He has contributed over 260 peer-reviewed journal articles and has raised millions of dollars to help advance our understanding and treatment of lung diseases.
