Dr. Claire Verschraegen earned her medical degree from Universite Libre De Bruxelles. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center and her hematology/oncology fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. She also performed research at the Christus Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research.

Dr. Verschraegen currently practices as a medical oncologist at the Ohio State University College of Medicine, where she also serves as Director of the Division of Medical Oncology, Professor, and Chair in Innovative Cancer Research. She holds an additional position as Associate Director for Translational Research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. Mesothelioma is one of her special areas of interest.
