Dr. Michael Mulligan earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Presbyterian Hospital and his thoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Michigan. He later completed two more fellowships in thoracic transplantation and pathology.
Dr. Mulligan currently practices as a thoracic surgeon at the University of Washington, where he also serves as Director of the Lung Transplant, Advanced Lung Disease Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Program, Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Professor of Lung Transplant and Surgery, and Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery. His special areas of interest include asbestos-related cancers such as lung cancer and mesothelioma.
