Dr. Eric Sommers is available when his patient needs him or when they have a question. Unlike most doctors nowadays, there are no barriers that will prevent you from accessing Dr. Somners when necessary.

Education and Expertise
Dr. Sommers earned his medical degree from Northwestern University. He completed his general surgery residency and his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Sommers currently practices as a thoracic surgeon at Tampa General Hospital and also serves as Associate Professor for the Department of Surgery at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. His special areas of interest include lung cancer, malignant pleural mesothelioma, and minimally invasive robotic surgery

Dr. Sommers has contributed to research advancements in the fields of lung cancer and malignant pleural mesothelioma. He has won a National Research Service Award and has published over 50 research publications.
