Serving as one of the key members on the Mesothelioma Tumor Board at Loyola University, Dr. John Hibbeln often stresses the importance of doctors collaborating on a big scale. Background

Dr. John Hibbeln earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. He went on to complete fellowships in nuclear medicine at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and in cross sectional imaging at Michael Reese Hospital.

Dr. Hibbeln currently practices as a radiation oncologist at Loyola University Medical Center, where he also serves as Professor of Radiology and Medical Director for the CT and 3D Lab . This is the same center that Dr. Wickii Vigneswaran established.

Why Dr. Hibbeln?

Dr. Hibbeln has a wealth of diagnostic radiology experience, including in the area of asbestos-related cancer. He has also worked closely with Dr. Vigneswaran, a leader in the field of asbestos-related disease. Dr. Hibbeln says he loves the challenge of working in a creative and rapidly evolving field like radiology.

Before working at Loyola, Dr. Hibbeln worked for 15 years at the Rush University Medical Center. He has also served as President of the Illinois Radiology Society.
