Where Is He Now?
Dr. Miguel Rivera and his work have been mentioned by the Cancer Survivors Network of the American Cancer Society. He has been praised by his patients, one of whom described him as being so talented and considerate that he wondered if “this guardian angel ever slept.” Today, Dr. Rivera works at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.

Background
Dr. Rivera earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where he also completed his general surgery residency. He completed his thoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Broad Clinical Interests
Dr. Rivera collaborated with Dr. Luketich in 2003 studying palliative photodynamic therapy for esophageal cancer. In their study, they determined that around 85% of patients who received palliative care for esophageal cancer benefitted from it.
