Dr. Muaiad Kittaneh spent three years of his life working at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. It was here that Dr. Kittaneh played a crucial role in the mesothelioma tumor board, and he had a big say in how things happened. Unfortunately, mesothelioma classifies as one of the rare diseases, which means not every place takes much interest in it. This disease usually occurs when someone has been exposed to the carcinogenic fibers. Over time, the effects are cumulative, and the risk of developing this disease goes up. People who work in specific industries will be at a much higher risk.
