Education and Expertise
Dr. Salgia earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University and his medical oncology fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Dr. Salgia currently practices at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he also serves as the Arthur and Rosalie Kaplan Chair of Medical Oncology. His clinical practice is enriched by his fluency in English, Spanish, and Hindi, helping him to reach more patients in need of his care. Dr. Salgia’s special areas of interest include thoracic oncology research, which he conducts with the National Cancer Institute.
With his expertise in clinical practice and research, Dr. Salgia is able to offer some of the best care to his patients with asbestos-related cancers.

Dr. Ravi Salgia works in the field of research to help with identifying the different biological components or biomarkers associated with an individual’s cancer cells. Dr. Salgia hopes that these biomarkers will be used to advance treatment for lung cancer, mesothelioma, and other asbestos-related cancers. With his expertise in clinical practice and research, he is able to offer some of the best care to his patients with asbestos-related cancers.
