Throughout his career, Dr. Richard Battafarano has treated patients with a broad spectrum of health problems, including mesothelioma, a disease that occurs due to exposure to asbestos. One of his surgical techniques is surgical staging via resection of a patient’s tumors.
The stage of the disease helps to guide treatment. However, Dr. Battafarano recognizes that each patient is different, which is why he offers his patients individualized care.
Dr. Richard Battafarano also collaborates on basic science research to advance his clinical practice and offer his patients the best care.
Battafarano’s Goal
Dr. Battafarano’s goal is to provide his patients with excellent healthcare. One way he achieves this goal is by offering his patients treatment with minimally invasive surgery, which has fewer risks, is less invasive, and has a shorter recovery time.
Dr. Battafarano also collaborates on basic science research to advance his clinical practice and offer his patients the best care. He hopes his research could eventually discover a targeted therapy or a combination therapy able to halt the overall spread of cancerous cells.
