Dr. Seth Blank helped to establish Mercy Hospital’s successful lung cancer screening program in Portland, Maine. He was also a founding member of Maine Medical Center’s Thoracic Oncology Center. He currently practices at MaineGeneral Health. Some of his special areas of interest include asbestos-related cancers such as lung cancer and mesothelioma.

The First
In 2006, Dr. Blank helped to perform one of the first minimally invasive lobectomies in Maine. Since then, this surgical technique has become one of his areas of expertise. Dr. Blank prefers minimally invasive surgery because it has fewer risks, is less invasive, and has a shorter recovery period.
