Education and Expertise
Dr. Farid Gharagozloo earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency and thoracic surgery fellowship at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. He also completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Gharagozloo currently practices as a thoracic surgeon at AdventHealth Orlando. His special areas of interest include thoracic cancers; such as lung cancer and mesothelioma; thoracic surgery, and minimally invasive robotic surgery.
Dr. Farid Gharagozloo was one of the first thoracic surgeons to utilize minimally invasive robotic surgery to perform extrapleural pneumonectomy, a surgical treatment for pleural mesothelioma.

Dr. Gharagozloo performs minimally invasive robotic surgery to treat thoracic malignancies. He prefers this technique over more aggressive surgical techniques because it has fewer risks, is less invasive, and has a shorter recovery time.
